OPEN BUSINESS
The Open Business blog has been launched and Michela is haplessly trying to
write a blurb for MOD Films. There are some very interesting comparative
models already up including the Brazillian Techno Brega music scene.

KORSAKOW SYSTEM
The Korsakow-System is billed as "an easy-to-use computer program for the
creation of interactive films, or better: interactive database narratives."
In practice, this is a Macromedia Director application which acts as a
pseudo-random media file viewer. http://www.korsakow.com/ksy/index.html

AJAX
Buzzword alert - AJAX, or asynchronous Javascript and XML is creeping
towards the web mainstream as more sites explore how to update information
onscreen without refreshing the whole page. With a new-look Hotmail
interface in private beta and flagship sites like Flickr gathering steam,
the future of the Web is sounding more like a multi-surface cleaning product
every day. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AJAX#PHP

VIDEO iPOD NO SHOW
It now appears that rumours concerning yesterday's release of Apple's
long-awaited Video iPod were completely unfounded. Analysts seem to say that
the video iPod is in development, but that lack of a licensing agreement
between Apple and the studios has made it a no-go for now. While a
video-capable iPod remains in development, without the agreements nor
infrastructure in place to deliver movies to customers through a store-like
interface, Apple sees little value in releasing such an iPod at this time.

R.I.P ARDMAN ARCHIVES
The roof and three interior walls of the Aardman Animations building in
Bristol, West England collapsed after a fire tore through the Victorian
building early on monday morning. A spokesman for Aardman said the building
housed props and sets from the company's history, including its first three
'Wallace and Gromit' films. But on a good note - 'Wallace & Gromit: Curse of
the Were-Rabbit' has rolled in at No. 1 at the U.S. Box Office, and
deservedly so.. the film's a hoot!!

ANIMATOR SUPREMO QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"I'm not at all against CG. I really admire many films that are made,
especially when they have such great design sense to them. I think that's so
important, whichever medium. You use a medium for a reason."
