GOOGLE MUSIC ANYONE??
Google has been in discussions with Napster to offer a digital music
service, rather than start one on its own, the NY Post reported. Last week,
Napster, founded by college student Shawn Fanning and was once synonymous
with the pirating of music, laid off 10 managers, so now Google is in talks
with Napster over an "extensive alliance" that could include an "outright
acquisition of the company. Reuters

VJ SHOWREELS
One of my colleagues in Colorado managed to set up a simple web site to
showcase VJ Showreels. Due to bandwidth limitations he can only showcase one
VJ 5 min. piece each month, so if you have a 5 min. piece you would like to
have featured on the site, please contact him and make sure your piece is:
A) QT sorrenson codec, 320x240 and B) around 50 megs in size. VJ Showreels

DIGITAL COMICS & MULTIMEDIA MASH-UPS
Japanese gaming giants Konami have announced details of two forthcoming
titles that can only be described as er... "interactive multimedia
experiences". Firstly there's the 'Metal Gear Solid Digital Comic' (working
title), a PSP version of the already published MGS comic book 'digitally
edited' into 3D visuals then tarted up with animations, sound effects and
music. Then there's 'The Silent Hill Experience' a similar multimedia
mash-up of Silent comics, music and interviews. Guardian

CONVERGENCE FOR ALL
For decades, nearly every gathering of media or technology executives has
defined the future in a single word: convergence. What exactly was to be
'converged' remained in dispute, but most saw some combination of
television, computers and an intelligent network that would give consumers
much more control. NY TImes Article
