BIG THANKS ALL ROUND
Thanks to Julien Masson for his hard work doing animation for CD. We
received a bunch of animation tests over the last couple of months and the
master' finally went off in the post this week. It has to be said that
without this kind of volunteer support the project would have never got this
far. Also a big hearty thanks to Richard Gillespie and NATS Post Production,
for getting some stills captured off the HD tape ready for press duties.

MOD FILMS ARCHIVED
The National Library of Australia contacted us this week to seek permission
to archive the MOD Films website in its PANDORA Archive. Hmmmm.. perhaps we
better get around to actually launching this thing!

CREATIVE ARTIST ARCHIVE PLACEMENTS
The Creative Archive project is offering two placements to artists to make
use of material from the BBC Archive and Creative Archive collections
respectively.

GOOGLE CREATIVE COMMONS SEARCH
Not wholly unexpected, Google has just released its own Creative Commons
search facility. http://creativecommons.org/find

2005 MACHINIMA FILM FESTIVAL
Machinima, derived from the words 'machine' and 'cinema', is the process of
making animated movies using the software engines and imagery of video
games. This saturday sees the advent of another instalment of The Machinima
Festival at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, NY. Obviously if like
me you don't live anywhere near the East Coast of the US, you'll have to
make do with the Festival program so... read 'em and weep!

COMPUTER GAME DESIGNER/WRITER QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"Computer games now are completely unchanged in terms of their basic appeal.
They are precisely the same fast-action shoot-em-ups or nerdy strategy games
that we were dishing out 15 years ago." - Chris Crawford
